DO YOU NEED TO BE AN EXPERIENCED JET SKI RIDER?

It may surprise you to learn that you don’t need any experience. How much experience is required to jet ski? This is the most frequently asked question we hear.

You might assume that experience is necessary when trying something new like jet skiing. But you might be surprised to find out that it is possible to do this without any experience.

Jet Ski Safety Instructions and Proper Instructions

You may be thinking that operating a jet ski Myrtle Beach without any experience is crazy. But let’s explain. Many of our customers are first- or second-time jetskiers. We treat all customers as though they have never jet skied or driven a boat before.

We do this to ensure everyone receives the right training. No matter what level of experience you have, you will receive a safety briefing and instructions before you can go on the water. No matter your experience level, our highly-trained employees will provide detailed instructions before you can get on the water in your pontoon, kayak or jet ski.

You have control

Remember that you have complete control of your own speed and can take as many or as few steps as you like. Renting at Action Water Sportz is a great option because you can return to our beach location to swap drivers/passengers.

You can “give it a go” so you can give it a chance. If you don’t like it, you can return to the beach and let someone else take it out on the water.

Highly-trained guides

Jet skis have employees who are always with you on the water, so they can help you in an instant. They are there to help you stay safe and answer all your questions. But most importantly, they want you to have a blast on the water.

They will remind customers about jet ski safety rules, but not get in the way. If you have any questions while out on the water, a guide will be happy to help.

We go the extra mile for our customers

Our employees will provide safety instructions and briefs to help you operate your pontoon boat. We will also give you our number so that you can reach us from the water if you have questions.

Many questions and issues can be answered by phone, but we have also driven to the boat to assist users of jet ski rentals in the past. We do our best to ensure you are safe and comfortable on the water. All safety equipment required for rental are included in the price of the boat.

Enjoy your experience and be confident

We are confident that your lack or experience on the water will not hinder your enjoyment.

Jet skis can be very easy once you learn the basics. We are always available to help you! Our goal is to ensure you have fun, safety, and comfort. Call Action Water Sportz now for more information.

HOW TO RIDE A JET SKI WITH A CHILD

jet-ski-Myrtle-Beach-11-300x200.jpgIf you are watercraft-riding moms and dads, you’ve most likely have dealt with the problem of when to enable your child to come along for a spin. If they’re just beginning to walk, you will need to have them outfitted them with a personal flotation device, wedged them between the two parents and take them for a fairly uneventful trip on the jet ski. If you are in the Myrtle Beach area, stick to the calmer waters of inland waterways or marshes.

But exactly what do you really have to learn about safe riding with children?

“Safe boating with children can be a fantastically enjoyable and a great experience for all,” suggests Cathy Ferriss, a licensed YMCA Aquatic Teacher. “It does, nevertheless, require a little thought, preparation, and planning — however what doesn’t when you include kids!” Certainly, safe boating of any kind with kids begins with a properly fitted personal flotation device (PFD). Try on different designs on for the child’s comfort, however, always verify that the vest is Coast Guard-approved and that it is the right one for your kid’s weight. That details will be stamped on the within the vest. “The life jacket should go on the child prior to them getting near the watercraft or boat,” says Ferriss. “Water is moving and is shiny. You will have your hands full of items, which is when your child will go straight for the water.” Young children (normally under 4 years and 50 pounds) are well served with a Type II PFD, recognized by the “pillow” behind the kid’s head. Why the pillow? It’s simple to teach kids to lean their heads back against it; that will keep their face upright, provide more stability, and permit the kid to remain on their back and unwinded. This kind of PFD also features a handle, which a rescuer can use to tow a child to safety while staying securely out of reach of flying hands. Before you climb up aboard the watercraft, let your child get used to the safety vest, both in and out of the water. Vests must fit comfortably, giving no greater than 3 inches when lifted at the shoulders, and with the crotch strap safely attached. When to begin? The Coast Guard recommends leaving babies at the dock up until they are at least 18 pounds (typically shy of one year). Good sense dictates that your son or daughter not be brought aboard any type of boat until a PFD fits them appropriately, and will stay safe. USCG statistics reveal over half of the boating deaths of children under 13 are a result of drowning, the majority of which could have been avoided had the kid been wearing an effectively fitting PFD. About where to put a little one, select the middle between two responsible adults. Kids like to ride in front, however, there’s too much of a possibility that their face could come in contact with the handlebars when you slow suddenly or encounter rough water. Keep speeds slow and controlled, slowly increasing the thrill of the ride with age. Prevent any crazy maneuvers; it’s far too simple for a kid to be thrown from the jet ski rental. Sluggish and regulated is the way to go. In case your kid does go overboard, practice your response. Presuming there are at least 2 adults on board a three-passenger PWC (prevent solo parent duty on a jet ski Myrtle Beach — a driver’s interest needs to be focused on the water, not on a child), have the back parent or adult take control of the situation. That individual should inform the driver to instantly stop the engine and remain aboard, study the scene for traffic and security dangers, then get in the water. Swim to the child, keeping the head above water to maintain constant sight. In reality, someone must be appointed to keep tabs on a child at all times while on board, no matter what size the watercraft. At Action Water Sportz we never send anyone out alone. You will always be accompanied by a guide who is fully trained in safety procedures. Call us today to schedule a day for fun for your entire family. INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT JET SKI IN MYRTLE BEACH

jet-ski-Myrtle-Beach-10-300x194.jpgPersonal watercraft, also called by its more familiar name which is the jet ski, have ended up being an exceptionally popular water sports vehicle for use out in the ocean, marshlands and Intracoastal waterway.  Myrtle Beach Jet Skis are a great source of recreation on the water and are also an alternative method for dolphin watching instead of the traditional dolphin cruise ships.

A Little Jet Ski History

Jet Ski derives its name from the fact they are propelled by a high-speed jet of water shooting out the back of the craft. The earlier models needed the rider to stand and hang on to a steering system. The jet skis ability to make sharp turns and leap is similar to snowboarding, thus the name jet ski. The earlier models are hard to ride and require a special skill to drive it. Thus, they quickly paved the way for the today’s new models where the rider sits on similar to the method a motorcycle is ridden.

Myrtle Beach Jet Ski

A Myrtle Beach jet ski is propelled by a water-jet pump which draws water in through an underwater grate and shoots it out the rear of the craft under high pressure which moves the craft through the water. The water-jet pump is generally driven by a two-cylinder fuel engine. The jet ski, in reality, is a full-fledged boat. The operator of a jet ski has the same duties as the operator of any other boat and should stick to many of the same guidelines and policies of larger boats. Because of their distinct operating characteristics, some states have a different set of rules for the operation of jet skis. South Carolina also has its own set of rules in driving a jet ski Myrtle Beach. There are several models and sizes of jet skis. They vary from the smaller single person craft to the large three seat designs (this is the design used by Action Water Sportz for their Myrtle Beach Jet Skis). The larger three seat models have effective engines that allow them to pull a water skier. To lawfully pull a water skier there should be room on the craft for an observer and the skier in addition to the chauffeur. Safely running a jet ski requires understanding and knowledge of its use. The operator must understand the operation of all the controls and where they lie. This understanding together with regard for others who are on the water will lead to an exciting and fun time on the water and bring you safely back to coast prepared to head out once again. Prior to your rental time, Action Water Sportz guides provide complete operation and safety instructions for the use of their Myrtle Beach jet ski rentals.

We are already taking reservations for the summer holidays!

  • air horn or whistle
  • identification card placed inside a waterproof bag
What are the recommended equipment for jet skis?
  • First aid kit
  • Sunscreen

  • Shock tube
  • Skier down flag
  • Bilge pump
  • Distress flag
What are the things you should not do on a jet ski?
  • Don’t do stupid things.
  • Don’t drive after dark
  • Don’t drive under the influence
  • Don’t exceed the watercraft limit in terms of the number of people you can carry.
  • Don’t start the jet ski in shallow water.

What are other tips for jet ski beginners?

Take a boaters safety course – if you’re a new jet ski rider, consider taking a boaters safety course. Some states require jet ski riders to take it, especially those that are under a specific age bracket while other states don’t. Even if you’re living in a state that doesn’t require you to get one, taking a boaters safety course will be for your own good. Besides, it’s cheap. Wear a life jacket – life jackets exist to save your life. Even if you consider yourself a good swimmer, wearing one while riding a jet ski Myrtle Beach shouldn’t be optional. A life jacket will save you in case, for some reason, you’re unable to swim like when you have a leg cramp or when you pass out. It will help keep your head above the water. Don’t forget to attack a whistle to your life jacket. Use the correct gear – you must wear the correct riding gear. Dry bag – you should also bring all necessary documents with your like your driver’s license, insurance, and boaters ID. Since you’ll be heading out in the water, you must place these documents inside a dry bag. Safety lanyard – it is a cord that links you to your jet ski. It’s a kill switch that will turn off the jet ski rental if you fall. Be sure that it’s attached to you when you’re riding a jet ski. It must be placed securely on your life jacket or attached to your wrist. If you don’t, the watercraft may drift away from you if you’re not on it and it may crash to someone else or worse, hit you in the head. Jet ski controls – you should learn the controls of the jet ski rental before you head out to the water. You should know to turn the jet ski on and off. You should also check the gauge before you head out into the water. You must be familiar with the forward, neutral, and reverse controls as well as how to use the brakes. You should also know how to use the throttle. Practice – if you’re a first timer to riding a jet ski, you should practice first. Find an empty place where you could play with the jet ski controls before you head out. You can also get tips from your friends who have jet ski experience.

TOP JET SKI SAFETY TIPS YOU NEED TO KNOW

jet-ski-Myrtle-Beach-9-300x200.jpgWe are beginning to feel the summer heat and that means water activities are ramping up, too. Jet ski Myrtle Beach is on top of the list of past time activities for water enthusiasts. It is an outdoor activity that the entire family can enjoy but it also has a lot of risks. There are ways for you to reduce the odds of getting injured and that is by taking extra safety and precautionary measures. Provided below are some of the best safety tips you need to know. Life Jacket Don’t be like other people who forgot or just do not want to wear life jackets when riding jet skis and participating in other kinds of water-based activities. If you are going to wear one, be sure that it fits you perfectly. If you are wearing an oversized life jacket, the water will push it up to your face, making it difficult for you to float. Meanwhile, wearing a life jacket that is too small will also make it hard for you to float. Both kids and adults need to wear life jackets that match their size. It will help lessen the risks of drowning and other injuries. The life jackets should also be checked and approved by the US Coast Guard. Watercraft Helmet You should also wear a watercraft helmet. It can help prevent head injuries in case you are ejected from the jet ski rental that you are riding. It can also protect you against flying debris. It reduces the chances of injuries and even death. Although watercraft helmets are recommended for jet ski riders below the age of 18, in most states, there is no law mandating its use. Regular Maintenance Equipment failure is the most common cause of accidents. This can be prevented by regularly maintaining the jet skis. Before you take your PWC out on the open water, you have to check the jet ski Myrtle Beach maintenance checklist and tips. You also have to do this once you return. Oil levels, cables, and the fuel should be checked. Before you launch, don’t forget to start your engine on land. If you have to store your PWC for winter, you need to winterize it properly. Jet Ski Lift Jet skis are typically left out in the water floating when they are not being used. This is not ideal because it can lead to additional deterioration. Its functionality will be affected if marine build-up gets into the interior of the jet skis. You can prevent this from happening if you through drydocking. Experts recommend jet ski lifts. When you dock the jet ski, you can raise it out of the water by using PWC floating lifts. It simplifies drive-on docking and much safer too. They work well in shallow water and other water levels. A floating jet ski lift can also be easily stored indoors along with your jet ski during winter. Don’t Drink One of the main causes of watercraft accidents is alcohol. Don’t drink if you are planning to operate a PWC. If you do, your judgment, coordination, and reaction time will be impaired significantly. If you want to drink then stay away from the water. No Speeding Just like on the streets, another leading cause of accidents is speeding on a jet ski. Speeding will cause to follow another PWC rider too closely. Ou needs to set a good distance between you and others so you will have enough room to stop. Always keep a safe speed as well as distance when you are out in the water. Doing so will help you reduce your risks of getting involved in an accident.

What First-Time Jet Ski Riders Need To Know

jet-ski-Myrtle-Beach-8-300x200.jpgDo you want to feel the adrenaline rush from riding a vehicle that accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just below five seconds? Well you can choose from buying a ticket to ride Space X or you can ride a jet ski. If you are interested in riding a jet ski Myrtle Beach and you’re a first timer, then there are a few things you need to know. The beginner’s guide provided below can help.

Tips For Riding A Jet Ski

If you’re new to the sport, then you should start out with these 10 helpful tips before riding a jet ski rental. Here are the basic jet ski riding tips you need to know.
  1. You have to know your boat-ed. In some states, you have to pass a boating safety course first before you can drive a jet ski and other personal watercraft.
  2. Climb on the jet ski and find the most comfortable sitting position.
  3. Put your hands on the bars and place your feet in the footrest.
  4. Before you turn on your water bike, you should have a lanyard around your wrist where the key in the ignition is attached. This is a setup is referred to as the kills witch cord. In short, if you fall off the jet ski, then it’ll be switched off because you’ve got the key with you.
  5. Switch on the ignition switch of the jet ski rental.
  6. Push the throttle in slowly. You can cruise around at around 10 mph offshore until you become comfortable to the throttle’s sensitivity.
  7. Once you’ve cruised to a spot that’s on a safer spot from the shore, past the heavy boat traffic and past obstacles, you can increase your speed. But you should always remain at a comfortable speed.
  8. Keep this steady and slow speed. Don’t forget to lean your water bike toward the direction where you can to turn.
  9. Don’t forget that jet skis require acceleration to turn in most cases. Keep the load centered and balanced so you can avoid capsizing.
  10. A lot of newbie jet ski riders want to stand up while riding a jet ski, but don’t be tempted to do this unless you’re already an intermediate or expert jet ski rider.
Safety First Make sure you know and understand the safety rules that govern the waters in Myrtle Beach. Also, don’t be overconfident when riding a jet ski because it can easily lead to mistakes Keep It Straight If you’re a first time jet ski Myrtle Beach rider, you’re most likely unable to keep the jet ski straight. Fortunately, there’s something you can do about that. Instead of staring at the waters or the handlebars, lift your head up and look far away. This will greatly help you correct your driving.

Jet Ski Safety Tips For Amateur and Pro Riders

jet-ski-Myrtle-Beach-7-300x196.jpgAre you looking for a fun summer activity that will make your heart race while letting you make unforgettable memories, then riding a jet ski is what you need. A jet ski may not be the most affordable investment if you’re looking for some fun but only a few things will compare to the thrill and enjoyment you get when riding this watercraft. Although riding a jet ski is fun experience, you should always remember that accidents can happen anytime, and in the case of a jet ski, they can be fatal, too. Jet ski accidents can lead to death but they can be avoided if the passengers are educated and prepared sufficiently. Below you’ll find the dos and don’ts when it comes to running and operating jet skis.

Do’s and Don’ts When Riding A Jet Ski

Wear A Life Jacket It’s not unusual to see people riding a jet ski rental with no life jackets on. But don’t be one of them. Wearing a life jacket is a must when you’re riding a jet ski. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a professional jet ski rider or an excellent swimmer. You still need to wear one. If you encounter an accident, the injuries you may have sustained will prevent you from swimming. Wearing a life jacket may just be what you need to save your life. Wear A Helmet If there’s another thing you need to wear when riding a jet ski, it’s a helmet. But only a few jet ski riders wear them. Helmets help protect your head when your jet ski crashes into another watercraft. Wearing one may not be a pleasant feeling especially when it’s extremely hot but the it’s better to feel uncomfortable rather than suffer a head injury because you didn’t wear one and you got into an accident. Wearing a helmet can limit head injuries and may even save you from imminent death. Don’t Drive Under The Influence You know very well that you shouldn’t drive a car when you’re drunk. It also applies to driving jet ski Myrtle Beach. You should stay away from drugs and alcohol if you plan to ride one. If you must know, alcohol caused 15% of the fatal jet ski accidents every year. Drugs and alcohol will impair your motor skills and reflexes, and clouds your judgement. Be Vigilant and Careful Even though alcohol is the common cause of short term inattention of jet ski riders, it doesn’t mean that you can just let your guard down when you’re sober. Even if you’re driving the jet ski rental at 40mph, the damage and injuries will still be massive if you hit another boat. You may even suffer life threatening injuries as a result. You don’t have to be afraid when riding a jet ski. What matters most is to never overestimate your skills. Don’t let your guard down. You should always pay attention to your surroundings and to your driving when you’re riding a jet ski.

RULES FOR JET SKIS IN SOUTH CAROLINA

Jet-ski-Myrtle-Beach-6-300x200.jpgIn the Myrtle Beach area, jet skis and other personal watercraft (PWC) must follow the same regulations as other boats, plus some policies that are specific to PWC. To understand these rules, you must take the state’s boating safety and security training course as well as get a South Carolina boating certificate. Luckily, Action Water Sportz ensures that all guides are certified in the state of South Carolina.

Jet Ski Rules To Follow

Children under 18 Unless they are accompanied by an individual 18 years or older, those younger than 16 years need to have finished a state-sanctioned boating security course. The training can be taken online. Although teens below 18 years old with parental consent may operate Jet Skis, you must be 18 years of age to avail of rental Jet Skis. All operators must possess a valid photo ID. If you do not have a valid driver’s license or photo ID, we suggest that you obtain a state ID card from your local Department of Motor Vehicles prior to your vacation. Personal Flotation Device Any individual riding a jet ski needs to put on a personal flotation protection device. These must be Coast Guard-approved, Kinds I, II, III or V. Life jackets are provided with all jet ski rentals. Amount of time Personal watercraft can just be run during daylight hours. Action Water Sportz provides rentals for 1/2 hour, 1 hour and 2 hours at a time. The time starts after the instructions and safety rules for jet skis are covered. Speed For a Jet Ski To stay clear of developing problem wakes as well as other risks, regulations state that you cannot operate over wake speed if you’re within 100 feet from a coast or closer than 50 feet to jetties, anchors or boat docks, people in the water or secured crafts. Crossing Paths Those riding a jet ski are not also permitted to hop the wakes of other vessels unless that other watercraft is at least 200 feet away. You need to leave room in between your jet ski and one more when going across paths. Safety and Security Lanyard Your jet ski must have a self-circling device or a safety and security lanyard affixed from the ignition safety button to your wrist or your personal flotation safety vest. This will ensure the motor will automatically cutoff should you capsize the jet ski. Action Water Sportz provides full safety instructions prior to releasing a jet ski Myrtle Beach for the whole rental time. All rules must be strictly followed to ensure the safety of everyone on the waterway.

Getting Ready to Ride the Jet Ski

  • Safety and Security First
Your safety and security is the primary concern when getting into any water sports activities. Regardless of just how experienced person is on swimming or with riding jet skis, everybody should use a life vest. When placing your life vest on, ensure that it’s correctly and safely secured before starting the engine.
  • Connecting the Engine Shut-Off Clip
Among the security and safety features of a jet ski Myrtle Beach that being called to set-up, the engine shut-off clip. This is affixed to your waist to ensure that if you fall and lose your balance, the engine will automatically shut off safeguarding you and others from prospective risk. Actually, using the shut-off clip will lessen your risks of falling from your jet ski.

Jet Ski Driving

  • Moving Into the Water
As soon as you’re linked to the engine shut-off clip, you are wearing your life vest appropriately and safely secured, and already riding the jet ski rental, it’s time to go into the water. Put your hands securely on the handles and hold on to it tightly throughout your trip. This will certainly help you to maintain complete control over the boat.
  • How To Make a Turn
As a newbie, it will be a challenge when making a turn and this is something that many newbies of jet skiing deal with, it is part of learning how to ride the jet ski. When you start, you need to begin practice turning while moving at a slow-moving rate. You need to continuously do it a number of times until you really feel comfy doing so until you can make fast turns.
  • Gaining Speed
As soon as you have a deeper understanding of the equipment and making turns, it is time to go far from the coast and right into deeper waters. Gradually increase your speed as you move right into the open water. If you move fast into the water, you might trigger a crash with various other boats, more so that you are a novice. Jet skiing in Myrtle Beach is one of the best water sports activities you can do in Myrtle Beach. If you understand the fundamentals of jet skiing prior to beginning, it could produce a wonderful trip. SUMMER FUN FOR ALL WITH MYRTLE BEACH JET SKIS

jet-ski-8-300x200.jpgWaterway boats are not for everybody. Some folks just do not have space, cash or passion that’s required of a full-size boat. You may want to consider the jet ski, or for the sake of right terminology, “personal watercraft.” Who do we have to thank for these mini boats? Happy you asked. Clayton Jacobsen is widely given the credit for the invention of the jet ski due to his major role in the development of Kawasaki’s line in the early ’70s. As Kawasaki revved up production of both stand-up and sit down models, other business like Yamaha jumped on board, providing waterway and lake lovers a huge option of a motorized way to enjoy the water without a boat. Fast forward to today and it appears that most of the personal watercraft out on the waterway are the size of a boat, with some easily seating three full grown adults. Nevertheless, that does not mean everyone’s rockin’ a new ski. No matter what your budget plan, taste or ability level is, there’s a ski to fit your budget.

Types of Jet Skis

STAND UPS: This style is referred to as a “stand up jet ski”, where the rider uses the personal watercraft standing up. The stand-up styles are built for one rider and are designed for racing, doing tricks or used in competition. These jet ski rentals supply a platform for riders to stand on when they get up to speed, with tall handles and has a lot of abilities. Although I instantly associate stand-ups with old-fashioned riding, they’re also extensively used for competition riding and unbelievable stunts. SIT DOWNS: Sit down skis are far more popular in today’s marketplace amongst individual watercraft lovers. Readily available in 2, 3, or 4 individual designs. The price range on brand-new, big personal watercraft can reach into the $10,000 range. Nevertheless, if you like fast turns in the water and lots of wind in your face, they’re an enjoyable financial investment. Most Myrtle Beach jet skis have engines capable of reaching high speeds between 15 mph and 60 mph. The motor is what determines how fast a personal watercraft will go. At Action Water Sportz, our jet skis will seat three individuals depending on their size. Always be aware that jet skis are considered personal watercraft and are subject to National Coast Guard standards just like any other type of boat. Make sure to follow marine instructions and be conscious of other water traffic in order to enjoy this thrilling water activity safely.

No need to purchase a jet ski for summer fun – Action Water Sportz has Myrtle Beach Jet Skis to rent by the half-hour, hour or take our two-hour dolphin cruise. Call us today to reserve your ski. Your family will be ecstatic.

Jet Skis: The Key To An Amazing Summer Fun

jet-ski-7-300x200.jpgIf you love water sports, you may have spent a lot of time riding jet skis, canoes, or kayaks. There are several activities you can do around water and a lot of those need the use of a boat. But the most popular watercraft choice among vacationers are jet skis. If you are a tourist staying in a beach oceanfront resort, you will notice numerous jet skis parked along the beach. You will see posted signs informing you what jet skis can be rented out and if you will be paying by the hour or for an entire day. Since there are many jet ski enthusiasts who are using this type of watercraft on a regular basis, they usually do not need any kind of instructions on how to properly use them. Tourists, on the other hand, require instruction on the correct ways to use this powerful watercraft. Most watercraft including jet skis have safety features installed. When thinking about using jet ski Myrtle Beach together with your family this summer, you need to take into account the amount of know how that each rider possesses before they use the powerful watercraft. There are some vacationers who have a tendency to exaggerate the truth and become apologetic for stretching what’s true later. Vacationers must also think about the maintenance history of the jet ski they plan to rent before signing any contract. Watercraft that are shoddily maintained or perhaps have no record at all are red flags indicating that the company hasn’t done any maintenance on their jet skis for a long time. There are also some Myrtle Beach jet ski rental companies that have poor standards. They think tidying the seats and refilling the gas is enough when it comes to the maintenance of their jet ski rentals. There are several jet ski rentals that are considered as high-performance models and they have the ability to go beyond 125 miles per hour. At this speed, a jet ski can maim and kill anybody who is on board. You should never drive a jet ski if you have consumed any kind of alcoholic beverage. It is not only illegal to do so but it can also put you and those around you at risk. Any kind of impairment of body faculties could mean a great difference if a rider will live or not. Jet skis offer several opportunities for you and your family to have fun this summer. There are jet ski models that can take up to 3 riders simultaneously. This offers the family budget a break while providing them with a good time as well as the opportunity to check out the local area in such a way that only a few tourists have the chance to do so. Getting the chance to explore the ocean is a great opportunity for sightseeing especially when you are on a jet ski.

Six Jet Skiing Safety Tips for Your Summer Holidays

jet-ski-6-300x199.jpgMy summer holiday experience is never complete until I hop on and take a ride on a jet ski. My favorite jet skiing spot is Myrtle Beach. This year will be no different. In fact I have already booked my jet ski with Action Water Sportz Jet Ski Rentals. I realized early on that booking your jet ski early spares you a lot of trouble in the summertime. While jet skiing is a lot of fun, it is important to always take the necessary safety measures to reduce the chances of mishaps on the water. Taking precautions will not only keep you and your family safe, it will also keep the fun going on your jet ski longer.

Here are several safety tips to make your jet skiing experience safe and memorable:

(1)Wear a life jacket You just can’t be too cool for a life jacket. You need one, even if you are a great swimmer. It is also important that the jacket fits properly. A jacket that is too small will struggle to keep you afloat. On the other hand, a jacket that is too big may allow too much water to push it up to your face. Always confirm that the jacket is the right fit for jet skiing and that it has the approval of the U.S. Coast Guard. (2)Check the jet ski’s fuel level before setting out Equipment failure is one of the most common causes of accidents. Checking the oil and fuel levels as well as the cables before launch is the best way to ensure that you don’t risk stalling in the middle of your jet skiing. (3)Do not drink and jet ski Although this sounds like a no-brainer, it is not always the case. There are people who think they can handle a water craft after taking a few drinks. This rule applies whether you are the rider or the passenger. Alcohol severely impairs your judgment, coordination and reaction time. In fact it is top on the list of causes of jet ski Myrtle Beach accidents. If you drink, stay out of the water. (4)Avoid over speeding This is another common cause of water craft accidents. Always ride at safe speeds and keep a reasonable distance from other riders. This is the only way you can allow yourself ample room in case you need to stop. (5)Always stay alert Many people take their eye off the ball once they learn how to ride a jet ski. Always remember you are not alone in the water. There are other skiers, swimmers or divers that may be in the same area as you. Stay alert to keep you and everyone else safe. (6)Always have the shore in sight There are many stories of people getting lost in the waters after veering too far away from the shore. And when close to the shore, don’t go too close to congested or residential areas. Bottom line Following the necessary safety precautions is the safest bet to preventing most jet ski rental accidents. As you enjoy your summer in the waters, keep everyone protected by following these easy safety tips.

It is not too early to call Action Water Sportz and reserve your fun in the sun.

Etiquette, Safety, and Rules When Riding A Jet Ski

jet-ski-4-300x200.jpgOpening soon - call for availability.

Jet skiing is indeed an exhilarating type of sport but even the most extreme sports are regulated by sets of rules and protocols. The guide provided below hopes to provide you with safety tips and the important details about rules and etiquette when riding a jet ski, to make sure that you operate your jet ski in the right manner and keep safe while enjoying the water.

Right Of Way For Jet Skis

Boats as well as other fishing and commercial vessels will always have the right of way – when you are moving onto an oncoming craft, always keep right. Additionally, if you are going to cross paths with another jet ski Myrtle Beach or boat, the craft on that is on the right side will always have the right of way.

Awareness of Other Water Users

Constantly be on the lookout for traffic when riding a jet ski rental. You have to know where the other boats are and where they are going before you cross a wake or make a turn. Unfortunately, collisions account for a significant percentage of accidents when jet skiing. Therefore, you have to pay close attention to what other water crafts are around you and where they are heading.

Wave or Wake Jumping

In case your course will take you across the wake of a different craft, be sure that it does not hinder both your own visibility as well as the visibility to other crafts. Bigger boats might not see you and might not be able to stay away from your course in time to prevent a collision.

Operating Speeds For Jet Skis

Speed limits are commonly set by local by-laws or regulations so be sure that you follow the limits, regardless if they are posted or not. It is not your responsibility to know the local speed limit, and the failure to keep it could lead to you facing a fine. Or worse, you might get involved in an accident. In areas that are congested, it is best to lower your speed as necessary, just like you would when you are driving a car.

Wear The Correct Safety Equipment For Jet Skiing

You should wear a life jacket as well as eye protection to prevent your vision from obscuring due to water spray. Deck shoes or tennis shoes as well as gloves will provide you with the protection you need from the elements. The whistle that is attached to your life jacket could be used to call for help in case of an emergency.

Safety lanyard for jet skiing

Do not operate your jet ski without the safety lanyard that is attached to you, because the lanyard will instantly cut the engine of the jet ski once you fall from the craft. This particular safety feature can help prevent accidents so be sure to use it all the time.

Noise Of Jet Skis

Be mindful of the noise that your watercraft makes. The very best method to avoid the noise problems is to avoid operating at high speed close to the shoreline, other boaters, as well as waterfront properties. You must also reduce the noise early in the morning. Apart from that, always start the engine of the jet ski in the water, and before you set off, warm up the jet ski’s engine first.

Environment Surrounding The Jet Ski

This is obvious. You should not spill oil, fuel, or leave litter or other pollutants in areas where they do not belong. Additionally, do not operate the jet ski near aquatic vegetation or wildlife. This will lessen the effect your craft has on the environment and spare the machinery of the craft from necessary damage.

Other Water Enthusiasts

Jet skiers should share the water with fishermen, boats, surfers, swimmers, as well as water skiers. You must maintain your distance and respect the rights to access, safety, and use of the water.

Fit Before Jet Ski

jet-ski-2-300x169.jpgAs many people’s thoughts turn to the summer holidays, I just can’t shake off the exciting thoughts of being on a jet ski and hitting the waters at Myrtle Beach. In fact, I have already booked one with the good folks at Action Water Sportz Jet Ski Rentals. I have always done my reservations early to avoid wasting a lot of time once the holidays start. If you are going jet skiing for the first time, you may need some guidance on how to use a jet ski properly. The good thing about Myrtle Beach Jet Ski Rentals is that you have an opportunity to get to grips with handling a jet ski before renting one. I have always found it prudent to start preparing for my summers of jet skiing early enough in order to be in good shape once summer arrives. With almost a month gone in the new year, it is time you too stepped up your preparations for your summer of jet skiing. The last thing you want to do is rent a jet ski and not make the most of it.

Why getting fit is important for riding a jet ski?

When using a jet ski, the physical capability is just as important as the maturity of judgment. You will be dealing with turbulence, waves and other obstructions in the water which makes it imperative that you be well prepared for the physical test that jet skiing will put you through. Jet skiing just like any other skiing requires you to have strength in your upper body, lower body, and core. This means that you have to include exercises in your fitness program that work in these three areas of your body. Ideally, three days in a week should be dedicated to strength training. Conditioning training and aerobic endurance can also be incorporated into your fitness regime. Upper-body fitness You need a strong grip when handling and maneuvering your jet ski. Pull-up exercises enhance your upper body strength as well as your grip strength. Dips are also great for this purpose. Performing three sets of between eight and 12 repetitions of each of these exercises, three days every week will do you a lot of good. Core strength A strong core is particularly important for the stability of the entire body. Planks are great for strengthening your core. Side planks should also be a part of it. Hold for at least 30 seconds for each of the right, left and side planks. Lower body fitness The most effective exercises for strengthening your legs and butt are squats and lunges. If you can, hold dumbbells to ensure your muscles are completely worked by the end of a 12-repetition set. Aerobic conditioning Cardiovascular exercises help develop a strong aerobic base. Jogging and swimming are great for your cardio and doing one of them for 20 to 50minutes three times a week will put you in top condition. Come enjoy the Myrtle Beach experience You don’t have to worry about not having a jet ski as Action Water Sportz Jet Ski Rentals offer a wide variety of jet skis to fit you or your family’s needs. Come to Myrtle Beach for a fun-filled summer and enjoy the adrenaline rush of jet skiing.

Jet Ski Safety Tips: What To Do When It Flips Over

jet-ski-Myrtle-Beach-1-300x168.jpgOne of the best ways to enjoy your summer is to ride a jet ski. Although they are easy to handle most of the time, accidents can still happen and that includes flipping the jet ski over. Once this happens you have to know what you need to do to avoid causing damage to the water craft and its engine.

Tips When Your Jet Ski Flips

You will find a sticker at the back of jet skis that tells you how you can right it. Be sure to read and understand the directions and follow them to the T. If you fail to do so, you might force the water into the crank case and you won’t be able to restart the jet ski. If the water gets into the crack case it could also cause damage to the engine. In case you have flipped the jet ski Myrtle Beach and then the engine continues to run, you should turn off the engine to lessen the possibility for water to be sucked in via the air intake. For most models of jet skis, you need to flip them over. Be sure to do it in a counter clockwise direction or in the direction that lets the exhaust is the last one that hits the water In case the water is in the crank case, be sure to get your jet ski rental back to the shore. The next thing you should do is to get rid of the plugs. With the wires grounded and the plugs out, you need to crank the engine. You can avoid igniting fumes by grounding the wires. In most instances, jet skis will have a ground lug for the plug wires. You should dry and clean the plugs. Then add a tiny amount of fuel on its cylinder holes before you insert the plugs back again. At this point, you are all set to crank it. In case your water craft starts but then stalls, you should dry and clean the plugs once again. There are instances when starting fluid cleans the plugs faster. You could keep adding starting fluid to the plugs and then keep on starting the jet ski’s engine until finally starts. When the engine successfully starts, allow it to run for half a minute and then put it back on the water. Allow it to run for a while and after five minutes, everything should be ok. Allowing your jet ski to sit with water in its crank case for any period of time will destroy its engine. More damage will take place the longer it sits with the water in the crank case. It will not take that very long for the jet ski engine to seize up, for the crank bearings and the crank to rust and for the rings to take up the cylinder walls.

Do You Need A Boating License To Drive A Jet Ski?

jet-ski-1-300x200.jpgDuring the summer season, everybody is excited and race out to the beach for boating season. The weather is wonderful and you have all the things you need or at least you think you have everything. You, your friends or relatives have a WaveRunner, Jet Ski, Sea Doo, or other personal water crafts and you are all set to go. But there’s one thing you need to remember, your personal watercraft won’t go anywhere if you don’t have a boating license. Many people are confused about licensing when it comes to personal water craft. Did you know that even though personal watercrafts don’t look like boats, they are actually classified as one and are bound by the same boating laws as a 40 foot yacht? A PWC is a small vessel that makes use of an inboard jet as its main source of propulsion. The operator could either be standing, sitting, or kneeling on the vessel instead of riding in it. Back in 2002, accidents involving personal watercrafts accounted for 19% of the total boating accident for that year. These percentage included 770 casualties. Personal watercrafts need to share the waterways with much bigger boats, and it is crucial to know how to legally and safely operate them. With your life jacket and boating license, you will be much prepared to drive your jet ski Myrtle Beach. There is not a different course for a jet ski license. It’s included in the NASBLA-approved boating safety course in your state. The requirements as to who needs a boating license to drive a personal watercraft differ by state and are determined by age, in most cases. But, your state could also consider certain factors like vessel length, vessel type, driver’s license, supervision of licensed owners, age of the supervised license owners. Apart from needed a boating license or certificate, there are other requirements, a few state specific, which applies only to the personal watercrafts. These include who can be towed or ride on a personal watercraft, ignition safety switch, operation based on the time of the day, US Coast Guard-approved personal floatation device. Failing to meet these requirements or not having a license at all, could result in a fine by the law enforcement department of your state. Several citations could mean a fine as well as enrolling in a boating safety course. If you wish to save money and time, as well as prevent causing injuries to yourself and to others then you should take the course before you heat out onto the water riding a jet ski rental. All the details you need to know about PWCs are included in the boating safety course of every state. Units are separated into topics that cover the maintenance, operation, and mechanical details. Even if your state does not need a license for your personal watercraft, it might still be required by your insurance company.

Have The Ultimate Vacation With Jet Ski Rentals

jet-ski-rentals-5-300x200.jpgAre you planning your vacation this year? How about including a jet ski rental for your Myrtle Beach getaway? There are several rustic and scenic destinations that can accommodate the tourist who would like to take part in this fun and exhilarating sports activity. There are many jet ski companies found at the marinas and they offer sea doo rentals and jet ski rentals. What an exciting activity to include in such activities like hiking or maybe just relaxing near a campfire. To go on this kind of adventure though, the first thing you have to do is know more about personal watercrafts, the manufacturers that develop them, and the kind of people who use them.

What is a personal watercraft?

A PWC or a personal watercraft is made with an inboard kind of motor. Apart from that, a jet pump provides it with the means to travel at speeds that could range as much as 55 miles per hour or more. Jet skis are the generic term that is used for personal watercrafts and is also a trademark registered name of a personal water craft that is built by Kawasaki. Another generic name is Waverunner. It is used by people who refer to a personal watercraft that is built by Yamaha. Meanwhile, Bombardier as well as Aqua Trax manufactured the Sea Doo and it is made by Honda.

Jet Ski Rentals Are A Popular Choice

Based on statistics, about 20 million Americans enjoy riding a jet ski Myrtle Beach every year. Watercrafts are available in sit down and stand up models with most participants preferring the three and four-seat PWCs. A solo craft is also called the stand up model while the sit down model is also referred to as a sport craft. The majority of families as well as beginners prefer jet ski rentals specifically the sport crafts because the rental rate for this option is more affordable than others. Apart from that, sport crafts offer bigger storage room. Additionally, several places that offer daily jet ski rentals won’t charge for more passengers.

The Jet Ski Rental Costs

The jet ski rental cost is relative to where you would like to rent one. In case you would like cut back ab it, you are most likely better off if you rent from a shop that also rents PWCs. However, there’s one concern and that is the fact that you need to provide your own equipment to tow them to the lake or beach yourself. If that’s the case then you might not mind spending a bit more money over by patronizing one of the marinas where you will be staying and finding a place that provides jet ski rentals there.

Convenience

Going for a jet ski rental to explore the beauty of the lake or beach is cheaper than chartering a boat. With today’s advanced technologies, jet skis have become easy to handle. They also offer a smoother ride thanks to their direction injection engines, which gives them the additional boost they require to glide over the waves without too much effort.

Safety Guide To Enjoy Your Myrtle Beach Jet Ski Rental

Myrtle-Beach_Jet_Ski-300x199.jpgIf you haven’t experienced the thrill of Myrtle Beach Jet skiing, you are really missing out. A jet skiing adventure on Myrtle Beach is one of those experiences I wouldn’t trade for the world. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned jet skiing pro, the Action Water Sportz always has you covered. Their standards are consistently high and every other time feels like a new experience.

Jet Ski Tips from the Pros

Here are some Jet Ski renting tips for everyone looking for a memorable jet skiing experience:
  • Plan in advance
It’s always good to be sure that there is a jet ski waiting for you before embarking on your vacation. This is the best way to avoid all the troubles that come with a last-minute rush. Run through all the available options and find the perfect fit for you and yours.
  • Compare prices
Different rental shops have different prices. Each shop will also include different components in each package. Morning rates are generally lower compared to afternoon rates in most places. You might also want to check if the quoted price includes life jackets, gas, and insurance. At Action Water Sportz everything is included in the price, including a certified guide to ensure your safety.
  • Check the rental requirements
Every rental agreement has to include certain items in the package. These include an on-water demonstration and pre-rental instructions on how to operate the jet ski. It is also important for safety instructions to be displayed properly on the jet ski.
  • Avoid returning your jet ski late
Jet ski rental agreements usually have time stipulations. In many cases, you will be charged for the extra hours if you are late in returning the jet ski, depending on the stipulations of your agreement. At the same time, it is not safe to operate a jet ski 30 minutes after sunset or 30 minutes before sunrise as you may not be visible to boaters.
  • Remember to wear a life jacket
A proper life jacket is very important when jet skiing. In fact, it is a requirement in most rental locations, including Myrtle Beach. Jet skis also have a cutoff switch lanyard that riders should attach to their clothing or life jackets. This helps shut off the jet ski’s engine in case one falls off while riding. It’s always good to arrive at the rentals early. For rookies, this is the best time to watch a brief safety demonstration before hitting the waters. It is also the time to take a look at all the rules and regulations. These include speed limits and no-wake zones among others.
  • For more experienced jet skiers
If you have enough jet skiing experience and feel like being a little more adventurous, you may want to use a stand-up jet ski if there is any available. A stand-up jet ski is good for performing extra tricks maneuvering faster in the water. Here are some things to avoid when jet skiing:
  • Don’t jump in the wakes or path of passing boats.
  • Don’t capsize the jet ski as this might cause flooding of the engine.
  • Don’t ski too close to other watercraft.
  • Don’t over speed as may lead to accidents and mishaps.

It is not too early to reserve your Myrtle Beach Jet Ski for the 2017 summer vacation season.
