  • Once you have cruised safely from the shore, past obstacles and heavy boat traffic, then you can accelerate or increase your speed. You should maintain a comfortable speed.

Additional Tips for Beginner Jet Ski Riders

Here are some tips and advice to help you ride your PWC before you embark on your adventure. Safety first – Be familiar with the rules and regulations that apply to the waters. Coast Guard considers a PWC a Class A vessel. You should be familiar with the rules and regulations applicable to boats less than 16 feet. It is common to become too confident when learning.

Keep it straight! Jet skiers who are new to the sport often have trouble keeping their jet skis straight. This is easily corrected. Riders are prone to stare at the handlebars and the water near the bow (front) on the ski. Instead, raise your head and gaze off into the distance.

This will allow for you to drive straight, and let you enjoy your trip. If you are still having trouble, pick a fixed target on land (buoy), and then steer straight at it.

Remember that you cannot avoid danger without a throttle – The water jet in jet ski pertains to the jet of water that comes out of the back then propels the ski forward. The jet moves from one side to another in order to steer your machine. There is no rudder. This means that if you stop giving the machine thrust, or slow down, your ability to steer will be reduced or lost completely.

If an emergency occurs and you have to avoid a collision, don’t let go of the accelerator. It will be impossible to avoid danger if you do this. Instead, maintain your speed and avoid the danger.

Splash Down…How To Re-Board Your Jet Ski – It happens that people can fall from their jet skis. It is usually not a big deal and can even be part of the excitement. There is an easy way to get back on. Always reboard a ski by going backwards (stern).

Reach up to the handle at the seat and lift yourself off the water onto the back deck. Only one person can board a tandem ski. Reboarding from the side can cause the ski flip.

Do not rush. Slow down. You can quickly get tired if you aren’t in good shape or have failed several attempts to reboard. Relax in the water and think about how to get back aboard. Then, slowly climb back onboard.

Relax! It’ll Hurt Less! Many new riders report feeling tired hands and sore shoulders after their first ride. New riders tend to hold onto their hands for dear life. Instead, try to lean forward and loosen your grip.

Keep your elbows bent slightly. This will enable you to ride comfortably and without fatigue. Keep your head down and don’t lean forward.

Keep your hands tight, but not too tight! We’ve already talked about driving but there is another trick for being a comfortable and safe passenger. It is a great way to stay on the skis by holding the driver’s waist or their back with their life jacket. Don’t make it difficult for your partner or driver to ski.

Relax, just like driving. Relax and keep your body flexible, but not stiff. This will reduce fatigue and increase your enjoyment. Passenger should also be aware of the driver’s turn when he or she leans into it.

Jumping Wakes: The best way to jump wakes. Jumping wakes can be an incredible experience but it can also be intimidating for beginners. Keep your jet ski’s stability intact by crossing large waves and large waves at a 90 degree angle. Jump waves, not push through them at high speed.

Keep at it – Although riding jet skis can be fun, safety and correct technique are important. This guide will help you be prepared for your next trip on your jet skis.

HOW DO YOU RIDE A JET SKI WITH CHILD?

Many children will love the idea that they can go on a jet ski with their guardian. You might notice in some cases that your child is overexcited. It is important to remember all safety precautions when you take your child jet skiing with you. Let’s now take a look at the safety precautions you should follow when riding a PWC together with your child.

Your child must not sit in front the driver when they are riding a personal watercraft. They should sit behind or between two adults when riding a personal watercraft. A jet ski rentals North Myrtle Beach SC may not be driven by children younger than twelve years of age. Children between 12 and 15 years old can operate the jet ski with supervision from someone older than 18.

This article is not meant to discourage you from taking your child on a jet skiing trip. Jet skis can be great fun for both kids and adults. It is best to do so safely. This article will help you.

Are Children able to drive a jet ski or personal watercraft?

Different rules will apply depending on the age of the child when jet skiing. Jet skis can be driven by children over 15 years of age. Most states require that anyone operating any motorized watercraft must have a license. Check the laws in your state.

A PWC can be driven by children between the ages of 12 and 16. They may need to be supervised. It all depends on your state’s regulations. Children younger than 12 years old may not be allowed to ride on a PWC.

Unsupervised operation of a boat or jet ski by children younger than 16 years old is prohibited. Children under 16 years old can ride as long they are accompanied and licensed to operate a PWC.

Is Your Child Safe to Sit on a Two-Seater Jet Ski?

Your child should be seated behind you on a regular two-seater. Your child should always have their arms around your neck. Although it may seem tempting to let them hang on to the back of the Jet Ski, it is easier to see if they are having problems. You can read my personal story at the end.

You should teach them to not pull on you or push on your face out of excitement. Instead, they should find a place to secure their life jacket when on jet ski tours.

It is not a good idea to have passengers seated directly in front of the driver. This can pose a danger to both of you. This applies equally to adults and children. There are still risks, even if you have the ability to see your child. It is more difficult to make a quick evasive maneuver with the handlebars when there are others around you. A wave can be misjudged and riders could fall on their faces if they don’t pay attention.

What Place Should a Child Take to Sit on a Three-Seater Watercraft?

Two adults and one child can ride the Jet Ski together. The child should sit in the middle of the adults. If you want to take your child on the water, it is best to have two adults.

Remember that the driver must always be in front. You don’t want the driver’s head to be hit by the child’s wave. If you are knocked back, you don’t want a child hitting their head on the handlebars.

Ride with your child on a PWC: Make sure you have the right lifejacket

It is important to ensure that your child’s life jacket fits properly. This is not a rule that applies to everyone. However, it is important to ensure your children are properly protected. While a life jacket should not restrict movement, it should not be too tight.

There are many life jackets available. For younger children, you will want one that has a little bit of padding at the back. This will give your child extra support when they are on the jet ski. It also protects them from getting in the water. You don’t know what your child will do if they get panicked or are mildly injured.

PWCs are not recommended for infants.

You should not bring children under 2 years old on a jet ski. You should consider how your children will react to being on a jetski.

Even if you have two adults, it is still a good idea to leave the infant behind. If the passenger must hold the infant and grab something else, it could easily overwhelm them if something went wrong. It is a good idea that you keep this in mind.

What if a kid goes overboard when riding a jet ski

Your child should not fall into the water if there are at least two adults aboard the jet ski. The driver’s job is to stop the engine from running. The passenger should be alert for potential dangers and traffic, then jump into the water to reach the child. While the passenger is looking for potential hazards and traffic, the driver must keep his eyes on the child.

Reduce speed if there are only two skis. If you have them, brake immediately. Next, quickly inspect the surroundings for any other boats or craft. After it appears safe, return to the child’s location and approach them slowly. The motor can be pulled along by the child. Jet ski propulsion is achieved by a propeller in a tube (an imeller), but there are still moving parts that allow for speed, steering and brakes. These can cause injury when the ski runs.

When the passenger and ski are back together, the child should climb back up from the rear. Modern skis often have a fold-down step at the rear. The second option is for the child to climb on the side of your ski and you to shift weight to the opposite side. This will maintain the balance of the ski. They can pull or you can help them. You can grab the life jacket and pull to prevent wrist and elbow injuries in children younger than 5.

After the passenger and child have returned to the jet skis, you can help them board the plane and continue your jet skiing. Remember that there may be dangers in the ocean. In such cases, it is important to keep an eye on the water and not just above the surface.

Take your child on a safe boating course

It could be beneficial for you both to take a boating safety class if you are going to go on a jetski with your child. This is a great way to bond with your child and to teach them how to be a passenger as well as how to drive.

The boating course will teach them valuable information, including how to keep their hands off of any intakes or propellers. You will also learn what to do in an emergency. You will also learn how to avoid emergency situations. They can also benefit from my article How to Ride Jet Skis as a Passenger: 11 tips and tricks.

It is helpful to have another boater, jet skier, or boater on shore

Although I understand that it is not always possible to do this, it is a good idea. Make sure they are aware that you expect them to keep an eye on you at all costs. You can also jet ski with a group to help you avoid getting lost or if you need assistance.

WHY SHOULD YOU RENT A JET SKI INSTEAD OF BUY ONE?

You are ready to ride jet ski rentals but you’re unsure if it is better to rent than buy. We are here to tell that renting is the best option. There are many reasons to rent, including maintenance and upfront costs. The costs don’t end there. A jet ski can also cost more than a car because it requires maintenance all year. You can read more about why renting a jet ski is better than buying one.

Jet Ski Prices

The prices of North Myrtle Beach jet ski rentals vary depending on their condition. However, you wouldn’t want to buy one that is too expensive. You are putting your safety in the hands and experience of previous owners when you purchase a jetski. There aren’t many experts who can handle jet skis. The average price of a new jet ski is $5,400. New Yamaha and Sea Doo Jet Skis can cost upwards of $10,000. This is without any accessories such as water tubes or more comfortable seats. A tune-up is required if you buy a used jetski. You can’t ride a used jetski right away after buying it. This means that any repairs or maintenance will be known to you while you are riding.

Jet Ski Maintenance

Jet ski maintenance is a major expense. Jet ski maintenance can be a costly task all year. Each year you will need to change your oil and gasoline, as well as pay for any parts that have become rusty or worn down over the year. Although they are not possible for non-certified personal watercraft technicians to perform, annual tune-ups are necessary. Jet skiing is just like riding a car. They break down faster if they aren’t properly maintained.

Jet Ski Storage

Winterizing your jet ski is essential when winter arrives. You will need to drain the oil and gasoline, purchase a cover, and ensure that the ski doesn’t float on the ground or in water. If you don’t own a garage, renting a storage space is an option. You can also purchase a PWC (personal watercraft), lift, or a storage rack for your jet skis. This will cost you about $250.

Jet Ski Rentals

Jet ski rentals make it easy to have all the fun and benefits without the hassle. All maintenance and repairs are included in your rental price. You can ride a jet ski without worrying about broken parts, storage, winterization, or maintenance. This will ensure that you have a great time and not worry about the hassle involved in keeping it running. Contact us today if you are interested in jet ski rentals. You can be sure of a safe, thrilling ride with our experienced captains and well-maintained PWC’s.

DO YOU NEED SAFETY TIPS FOR YOUR NEXT DOLPHIN CRUISE?

When you go on a dolphin cruise, there are many things that you need to remember.

Activities that involve any attempt to interact with sea lions, whales, dolphins, porpoises, or seals are not supported, condoned, and authorized by the National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration or the National Marine Fisheries Services. It’s because dolphin human interaction could lead to a negative effect on the behavior of the dolphin, which is something that’s considered harassment by federal law.

If people will swim with resting dolphins, the latter may stop their resting state in order to check or avoid the swimmers, which will disrupt their behavioral patterns. But there are ways for you to view dolphins while they’re in their natural habitat safely and responsibly without disturbing their feeding habits or their behavior.

Reminders When Going on a Dolphin Cruise

Don’t pursue or feed wild dolphins when you are on a dolphin tour North Myrtle Beach SC. It’s illegal, considered harassment, and it may cause injury, stress, or even death. If you feed dolphins, it may cause them to become dependent on human food and will no longer go to their hunting sites. Additionally, if you feed wild dolphins all the time, they have a tendency to lose their instinctual wariness of humans.

Don’t pet or touch dolphins, even if they try to go close enough to touch. You should use binoculars if you want to watch these creatures from afar.

Stay as quiet as you can when you are on a dolphin trip and you should avoid entrapping or circling around dolphins because they may change their behaviour, physically harm them and even traumatize them. You should put the engine of your pontoon boat rentals in neutral when you’re near dolphin pods or individual dolphins.

Avoid Rod and Reel Interactions

In case you see that someone is feeding the dolphins, you should report them right away to the NOOA Fisheries enforcement hotline. If you are going on a fishing trip in an area that is known to be a dolphin habitat, you should avoid throwing unused bait into the water.

It could easily attract a lot of wild dolphins to the place where they will learn how to steal and beg to get fishing bait. If you see or think that there are dolphins in the area, you should reel in all of the fishing lines and then wait for the dolphins to pass by. Additionally, you should release catches quietly and away from the area where the dolphins are gathered. If you think that caught fish are released in a specific spot, dolphins can easily swarm in that area and then wait for people to release their other catches.

You can decrease the risk of injuring dolphins and other sea creatures by using circle and corrodible fishing hooks. Hooks that aren’t created from stainless steel would dissolve in the water when they become not connected to the fishing line.

TIPS ON CHOOSING THE RIGHT PONTOON BOAT FOR YOUR FAMILY

You and your wife or husband are water enthusiasts, fishing fans, or perhaps just like to get away for the weekend. You will always be considering the next getaway and why you need to get out on to the water. But now that you have a bigger family, you’re probably hoping that your kids also love the water and boating. If you already have a pontoon boat, then you need to make sure that it can accommodate all of you while ensuring that the boat is safe.

Just like buying a new truck or car, a pontoon boat is a significant investment. You should be sure that what you are purchasing will be a boat that you will enjoy and use for the years to come, from your kids life, when they became adults, and until they have kids of their own.

As you make this crucial decision, here are the tips that can help you ensure that the pontoon boat you choose is kid and family friendly.

Finding The Best Pontoon Boat For You and Your Family

The deck and floor plan of a pontoon boat rental has been compared a lot of times to a patio. But don’t be fooled, some smaller pontoon boats nearly have no room aside from the captain seat and the seat at the back. If you have kids, you need to choose a pontoon boat that is spacious enough for them and for their accessories and toys.

You also find boat rentals North Myrtle Beach that comes with a pop up changing room. You know that kids don’t have the bladder control of grown-ups. That is why a collapsible or pop-up changing room is a must. It must also come with a small portable toilet.

You should also have a bimini so that you and your family will have protection from the sun. You don’t want your kids to be exposed to direct sunlight all day, right?

Food accessories are important, too. Although you’ll probably bring some snacks for the trip, nothing beats eating a good square meal. There are many ways to keep your food safe when you’re on a pontoon boat. You may even prepare and cook food during your trip. Make sure you have food accessories like a cooler and even a grill.

You also need to have enough storage space. You’ll most likely have a lot of bags filled with your kids’ things. So, your pontoon boat must have enough storage so it can accommodate your things. Choose a pontoon boat that has a lot of storage options, mostly under the seats.

When choosing a pontoon boat, make sure to choose one that comes with a safety equipment. Go for a pontoon boat that comes with secure gates and high rales. You’ll probably be distracted for a moment when you’re engaged in water sports Myrtle Beach and if you have kids on board the pontoon boat, you need to make sure that they’re safe that’s why you need high rails and fences.

Call Action Water Sportz now if you’re looking for a pontoon boat for your next vacation.

HOW DO YOU STAY SAFE ON A JET SKI?

Summer is beginning to ramp up and that includes water activities. Among the greatest past times if you are a water enthusiast is jet skiing. Jet skiing can be fun for the family, however, it could also be risky. You need to take precautions and additional safety measures to help you reduce the chance of injury and make sure that you’re always on your jet ski rental longer.

Here are a few jet ski rental safety tips you need to know for the summer season.

Jet Ski Rental Safety Tips

Wear A Life Jacket

Most people who ride a jet ski rental and participate in other water activities don’t like to wear life jackets. When you wear a life jacket, you have to make sure that it fits properly. Wearing one that’s too big may cause the water to push the life jacket up your face, which will make it more difficult for you to stay afloat. These precautions are crucial especially for kids.

Your children must wear a life jacket that’s fits their size to reduce the possibility of drowning and injury. Wear a life jacket that’s approved by the U.S. Coast Guard and is the right one for jet skiing.

Wear a Watercraft Helmet

Watercraft helmets can help prevent head injuries if you fall from your jet ski rental. A helmet can protect your from flying debris. It’s highly recommended for jet ski rental riders who are below 18 years old. Accidents can happen anytime and wearing these helmets can reduce your injuries and risk of death.

Most states do not have a law that requires the use of this helmet however, it’s recommended for all the riders to wear one at all times while riding the jet ski rental.

Jet Ski Rentals Must Be Properly Maintained

In most cases, accidents may happen because of equipment failure, which could be prevented if the jet ski rental is properly maintained. Check the cables, oil levels, and fuel.

Use A Jet Ski Lift

If you’re not using your jet ski, one option is to leave it floating in the water. But this could lead to wear and tear. Aside from that, marine buildup could also reach the inner workings of your watercraft, which could lead to failure during operation. Dry docking your jet ski could help in preventing the marine life from accumulating in your watercraft.

Don’t Drink While Driving A Jet Ski Rental

Alcohol is among the main causes of watercraft accidents. It can impair your judgment severely, as well as your coordination and reaction time. If you drink, you must be on land. You can’t drive a jet ski or any type of vehicle. Don’t go near the water if you’re under the influence.

Don’t Speed

Another major cause of accidents on the water is speeding. Speeding will make your jet ski move too close to another rider. You need to leave a good distance between your jet ski rental and another one . Keep a safe distance and speed while you’re in the water so you can avoid serious accidents.

Call Action Water Sportz now if you’re thinking of getting a jet ski rental for your upcoming vacation in Myrtle Beach.
